Lisa McClure's China Diary

Life at Larry's House is certainly interesting!

Lara and I have been sharing an air mattress on the floor in the tiny spare room, evicting the neighbor kid who had been living there before us. But after a few weeks on the floor, I decided I couldn't take it any more, so I went out and bought us a full size futon in a nice frame. What a luxury! Lara sleeps across one end and I sleep somewhat diagonally at the other end, but we sleep well, and it is so nice to be able to sit on the bed with my feet on the floor like a normal person.

We've got to share a bathroom with Larry and Dawn. That wouldn't be much of a problem, except that Dawn is an erratic sleeper and very crabby as well. So, it's hard to know when to take a bath without waking her up or finding her already in the bathroom. But we're learning how to work around her.

The first week we were there, Lara started using the baby, Tyler's, potty chair that was set up in the bathroom. But that really ticked Dawn and her sister, Debbie, off, because Tyler is apparently still using it as a play toy and they didn't like the idea of Lara peeing the newness off of it. So they took it out of the bathroom, and now I've put Lara's potty chair in there instead. Every so often Lara will pee in it without me noticing, and then I'll hear through Larry that Dawn was upset to see baby pee in it when she went in to use the bathroom. So, I'm trying to be as vigilant as I can to avoid annoying her. It's a shame that she's so easily annoyed.

Oh, by the way, it looks as if we're going to have to move out in a month or so. Larry's sold the house!
